“I worked on a first-of-its-kind, global project as an intern”
Caroline Thomaes, SMO Country & Sales Leader
At P&G, your internship is meaningful! From my first day as an intern, I was doing something that mattered—creating the first breakthrough database of retailer equity. I was amazed that this database I piloted was serious business, expanded to more countries and was still used long after my internship ended.
This level of responsibility and impact has continued throughout my career here. At every level and in every role, we work on big projects that solve small problems for consumers. When I joined full time as Key Account Manager, I was immediately assigned to a big category management project at a top retailer. I partnered with marketing, and we made a recommendation that was accepted by the retailer and grew category sales instantly. The project was highlighted for months as best in class.
During my career at P&G, I did many ‘side track’ moves. I’ve worked in distributor operations (GDM), in Prestige, and also worked on smaller brands. I’ve loved every challenge and welcome the next one. The more you see and do, the more you learn and the more of an impact you can make on your next assignment and team members.
18 years later and I’m thrilled to still be here—and to be as engaged and excited by my work as I ever was. Every day brings me a new challenge and new learning—even more so now in my job as SMO Country & Sales Leader. One of the key factors that makes this such a fulfilling job is the people I work with. I still love seeing my direct reports develop and flourish, seeing team spirit and passion ignite, and fostering a culture where, together, nothing can stop us.
